Requesting a packed breakfast was well-received and made our outing smoother. don't hesitate to ask ahead for special arrangements.

staying at grootbos was a far from luxe experience. at $1500 a night, being charged for dinner drinks was totally ridiculous. also, when we asked for a breakfast to-go for our whale watching tour, the staff acted like it was a tremendous burden. absolutely no upgrade or complimentary gestures for such an inconvenience, just unacceptable!

Family heaven with stunning views
The staff were phenomenal! ! Really made us feel like we belong here. We absolutely loved the evening turndown service where candles lit our room and a warm bath was waiting for us. Plus, the food was outstanding! Each dish was presented beautifully!
It wasn’t exactly inexpensive, but for what you get, it was worth it.

No drawbacks at all.

missingWrote a review on Jul 08pricing confusion
At $1500 USD per night, it felt a bit like we were paying for extras, such as being charged for drinks at dinner despite the luxury price tag. Confusion arose regarding breakfast arrangements for our whale watching tour, which our request for a packed meal turned into a hassle rather than a seamless experience.

Had an amazing time with friends during our stay. We explored the ancient caves and enjoyed guided activities in the fynbos, coastline, and on the ocean. The culinary excellence at Grootbos Villas was unforgettable, with every meal being a treat. We loved the history of the caves and the kids' area, especially the jungle gym for our little ones. Recommended for anyone wanting to connect with nature!
One downside was a bit of confusion regarding our room arrangements. it took longer than expected to check in, which threw off our schedule.

Incredible experience with breathtaking views!
My stay in the One Bedroom Luxury Suite at the Garden Lodge was unforgettable! The suite offered stunning vistas of the mountains and ocean, making every moment special. I especially loved the multi-course meals that were not just food, but art on a plate. The entire staff was incredibly attentive, from guiding us on activities to making us feel genuinely welcome. The only downside was the need for better organization in the activities, as we felt a bit rushed at times.
